Right there with you. He had *so* much talent, as Brokeback Mountain proved beyond a shadow of doubt. I was SO looking forward to him being the Joker in the next Batman with Christian Bale - two men able to bring a ton of intensity to roles, and really make that rivalry REAL. And all of the other roles he might have played. Completely a bummer.

I always liked the black prince. He's a jerk, of course, but he's trying so hard to play by the rules. It's not his fault that he's up against the seductive lure of anachronism.
